When the pack ice has retreated far enough for ships to pass, the Arctic can be explored from May through September. By September, autumn and the Northern Lights are here. And if this is your first time seeing the arctic Region, it might be advisable to travel with an experienced companion. If the air is 40°C, things may become ugly very quickly!
Food, drink, and sleep are the most crucial components of an adventure, after the safety of course. Even if you don’t feel like it, eat and drink throughout each little break.
Check for any early indications of frostnip, make sure your feet are dry each night, trim your toenails before leaving the house, moisturize your fingers, feet, and face in particular, and maintain your body temperature.
Don’t skip breaks entirely just because it’s cold; inst food breaks short.
