Bandeja Paisa is Colombian cuisine much adored for lunch and dinner. The dish is made with two different types of Colombian sausages, red beans, rice, ground beef, fried pork called chicharron, plantain, arepa and a slice of avocado. Besides, the dish is topped with a fried egg. The dish is served in generous amounts and on a large oval-shaped tray or platter. In 2005, it was announced as the national dish of Colombia by the government.
