Ajvar is a condiment that is primarily prepared from sweet bell peppers and eggplants. It is a relishing dish that is known to gain popularity after World War II throughout Yugoslavia and Southeast Europe. The dish is used as a very well-liked delicacy in Belgrade households and eateries. But because of labour problems, the production of domestic caviar became inconsistent in the 1890s. Finally, a pepper salad known as red ajvar was made available. It tastes mild, fruity and spicy and can be paired with a variety of items like meaty kebabs.
